About B&L Lift Specialists

B&L Lift Specialists is Western Australia's escalator specialist. While the company's roots are in lifts, escalators are where B&L has made its name — and today they're the heart of everything the business does.

Founder and owner Bert Thompson brings more than three decades of vertical transport experience to every project. After qualifying as a Fitter and Machinist in 1991, Bert spent over a decade with Schindler Lifts across South Africa and Australia, working hands-on with both lifts and escalators before moving into service management. In 2015, he founded B&L Lift Specialists — and as the business grew, so did its focus on the equipment he knows best: escalators.

Maintenance is at the core of what B&L does. From predictive maintenance programs that extend the working life of an escalator to essential servicing that keeps equipment safe and reliable day to day, B&L's technicians bring hands-on expertise across all major brands. Every maintenance plan is tailored to the equipment, the site and the client's needs — because no two escalators, and no two environments, are the same.

When escalators need to perform, trust the specialists. Trust B&L.
